Scout — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
Scout is run from scouthome.co.uk. This policy covers the Scout web app
and the Scout Chrome extension.
What we collect and why
- Your account: name, email and profile picture from
your Google or Apple sign-in.
- What you save: listings, ratings, notes, viewings,
criteria and places such as a workplace.
- Server logs, including IP addresses, kept for up to
30 days to keep Scout secure.
We use this only to run Scout for you. We don't sell it, advertise with
it or profile you. The extension only reads a listing page when you click
it.
Who sees it
- Your group sees everything in it.
- Clerk (sign-in, United States) and
Railway (hosting, Netherlands) process it for us.
- Public data services such as TfL, police.uk and the
Land Registry receive a home's address or location, never your name or
email, so we can show information about the area.
Cookies
Only the ones needed to keep you signed in. No analytics or advertising cookies.
Deleting your data
Delete your account from your profile at any time. We delete your profile
and notes, and any group where you were the only member. Homes you shared
stay with groups that still have members.
